Why Abu Dhabi for a Luxury Golf trip
Abu Dhabi's golf is varied and well established. Yas Links, designed by Kyle Phillips, is a true links layout along the water, while Saadiyat Beach Golf Club, a Gary Player design, runs beside the island's natural beach. Abu Dhabi Golf Club is the city's long-standing championship venue, with its falcon-shaped clubhouse a landmark. Base yourself on Saadiyat or Yas for the quickest tee times.
The UAE's capital offers a calmer, more cultural counterpoint to Dubai, anchored by the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, the Louvre Abu Dhabi and the presidential palace Qasr Al Watan. Its luxury is spacious and stately: palatial hotels along the Corniche, beach resorts on Saadiyat Island beside protected dunes, and remote retreats among the towering sands of the Empty Quarter.
When to go: November to March brings warm, sunny days and pleasant evenings, perfect for beaches, golf and desert excursions. June to September is intensely hot and humid, best suited to indoor culture and pool time.
